How do I get visa for Nepal?
You can apply for a Nepal visa in Nepalese Embassies in your country. If there is not Nepalese Embassy in your country then you can apply in Nepalese consulates. If you are not able to get visa with both options then you can get visa upon arrival in Tribhuban International Airport, Kathmandu, Nepal. If you are entering Nepal through land then you can get visa in the Nepalese border.
What is the charge of visa and how much is the charge?
You will get a 60 days Nepal visa at once and you will be charged US$ 30 for 60 days. In case you want to get visa for less than 60 days then, it does not matter because the charge will be the same.
Will you come to pick me up in the airport?
Actually this depends on the itinerary that we will send to you. If you accept the full package trip sent from us then definitely we will come to the airport to welcome you. If you send us modified itinerary where airport service is not included then we will come to welcome you in the hotel.
How difficult are the treks?
Normally, tea house trekking is easy to moderate. It also depends on the trekking region, route, trekking options etc. In normal saying, short treks are easier than the long ones because long treks need more physical strength. Normally, you need to walk around 5/6 hours in average. If you take a guide then he / she will give you briefing about the trekking routes each day.
What sort of lodges may I expect on the trail?
Trekking is normally done in remote parts of Nepal. So, definitely you won’t get any star hotels there. Normally, you can get small and peace tea houses made by local resources. You may get local produced hygienic foods on the lodges. And, normally you will get a comfortable bed and sometimes you may get private bathrooms and sometimes you may need to share common bathrooms.
Commonly, in some case if you are a single traveler then you may need to share your room with another person. Your guide will try to provide you single room but in some cases there are lots of examples of room sharing on the trail. So, we heartily request you to be prepared for that if you are a single traveler.
And in some cases you may not get rooms available in the lodges because of the large number of trekkers. In that case even you may need to sleep in the dining hall, please be prepared for that. This happens only in the extreme conditions.
What sort of water will I get?
Your water won’t be included in the package trip. We recommend you to bring some tablets of Iodine to put in the water. You can request for water to put in the bottle in the hotel and put your iodine tablet in the bottle. Iodine has proved as 100% effective way of purifying water.
And, you can get mineral water on most of the trekking routes. But some trekking routes have banned mineral water and on those trekking routes you can get safe drinking water station. You can refill your empty bottle with purified water from safe drinking water stations.
What can I expect from my guide?
Your guide will be typical Nepalese person. But if you have group of more than 15 people then there will be a team leader from your group too. You guide will be fluent in English language but we have guides who speak Spanish, German, French, and Japanese etc. for clients who do not speak English. So, your guide will be experienced on in the field in trekking, government licensed and socially aware. He will give you briefing each day regarding your route. If you have something that you are unsatisfied then we request you to talk with him.
I am a single lady / women, is Nepal safe for me?
Obliviously, Nepal is safe for all people and all age groups. There are chances of being safer than your home country. And, while travelling with us, your guide will be taking care of you personally so that you could feel safe in Nepal.
What is the trekking season?
Normally, trekking in Nepal is done in spring and autumn season. And, on this season the trekking trail will be really busy and crowded too. But for low level treks like Langtang Kyanjin Trek, Ghorepani Trek, Around Annapurna Trek, Dhampus Sarankot Trek etc. can be done throughout the year.
What equipments should I bring for a trek?
Basically, low level trekking needs few and easily accessed equipments. But for high altitude and adventurous trekking you need to have better equipments. Please see our equipments section for more information or you can email us too. |
